Let’s Talk About Those ‘Thirst Trap’ Posts
Here’s a fun little tidbit for you: Kelly Ripa’s daughter, Lola Consuelos, just can’t get used to the steamy pics her mom posts of her dad, Mark Consuelos, on Instagram. You know the ones I’m talking about—the kind that make everyone swoon but also make Lola want to hide under a rock.
During a recent interview for PEOPLE’s inaugural Family Issue (published on August 12, 2020), Lola, who’s now 19, opened up about how she handles her mom's cheeky antics. “That’s disgusting,” Lola joked, addressing her mom’s habit of sharing photos of Mark that are clearly designed to make fans swoon. “I block that out of my mind. I forgot that you even did that. I don’t even know if I follow you on Instagram anymore! But I’m kidding, Mom—I would never unfollow you.”

Lola’s Reaction to Mom’s Insta Moves
Now, Lola might not remember every single post her mom shares, but when it comes to the steamier ones—like that video of Mark showing off his ripped abs—she definitely has something to say. Remember that time Kelly captioned a video of Mark with “This thirst trap Friday has been brought to you by the letters K and J”? Yeah, that one. Lola wasn’t shy about her thoughts.
“I’m reporting this,” Lola hilariously quipped, but Kelly wasn’t about to let her daughter off the hook. “Lola… shouldn’t you be reading a book or something?” Kelly shot back, keeping things lighthearted and playful.
Mom Knows Best (Sort Of)
Even though Lola doesn’t always see eye-to-eye with her mom’s social media habits, she still tries to offer some advice now and then. For instance, she’ll often remind Kelly not to engage with her haters on Instagram. During the same cover shoot, Lola chimed in with some wisdom: “I just don’t think you should give them the time of day. I mean, these people are sitting at home wishing they were you.”
But Kelly, being Kelly, sees things differently. She believes she has a “healthy relationship” with her critics. “The people that I clap back to are usually very clever and funny. I usually get a good laugh out of it,” she explained. “They deserve a little bit of sass! They need it. It’s what they want.”

“I get it,” Lola responded, before adding her two cents. “Irrelevant people should stay out of our lives.”
“Alright, you’re always wiser than I am,” Kelly joked, proving once again that she’s got a great sense of humor—and a close relationship with her daughter.
