Marie Osmond Finds Joy Amidst Quarantine
Life has been a whirlwind for Marie Osmond, but she’s managed to carve out some precious moments with her family. The iconic singer and TV personality recently took some well-deserved time off to visit her daughter Brianna Blosil in Los Angeles. This wasn’t just any visit—Brianna, 22, and her husband David Schwep welcomed their second child, baby Mabel, just weeks ago. It was the first time Marie had the chance to meet her newest granddaughter in person.
Marie, who turns 63 this year, shared a heartwarming update on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into her weekend getaway. "Yesterday was the first day I had some downtime in quite a while," she wrote. "It was delightful! I ignored my ‘to do’ list and went to L.A. to see my daughter Brianna, my wonderful son-in-law David, and my precious granddaughters Maude and her new sister, baby Mabel." After a day full of family bonding, Marie treated herself to a little downtime with an old favorite movie, Seabiscuit.

Quarantine Can’t Stop Family Bonds
While the world continues to navigate the challenges of the pandemic, Marie has found solace in the joy her family brings. This visit to see Mabel was particularly special because it marked the first time she’d laid eyes on her newest granddaughter since announcing Mabel’s birth on August 9. Marie took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the little silver linings in life, especially during these uncertain times.
"Our daughter Brianna and son-in-law David Schwep’s wonderful news brought a sweet reminder that this life is about having JOY!" she wrote alongside a stunning black-and-white photo of baby Mabel. "I’m overjoyed as I have pondered over our precious little addition to the family. I pray continually for my grandchildren (this next generation), that they will not be afraid of the world they’re growing up in."
Staying Connected Through Technology
Though Marie is maintaining her distance from Brianna and the rest of her family to stay safe, she’s found creative ways to stay connected. Group texts have become a lifeline, allowing her to keep in touch with loved ones. Additionally, her 31-year-old daughter, Rachael Kruger, and her daughter-in-law, Claire, have been organizing FaceTime calls to bring everyone together virtually.
"It was a great way for them to stay safe but isolate together. My grandkids don’t fully understand all that’s going on, but the faith and trust they have for their parents is precious," Marie explained in a previous Instagram post. It’s clear that despite the physical distance, the Osmond family remains tightly knit.

The Art of Quaranteaming
Marie has embraced the concept of "quaranteaming," a term that describes the process of choosing who to quarantine with to avoid feeling isolated. For her, this has meant staying connected with her immediate family and finding joy in the small moments.
"I love the idea of being a ‘team’ with those special people in our lives right now," she gushed. "It’s about supporting each other and making the most of what we have. Looks like everything is alright in the Osmond household."
