Being a mom of two, Carrie Underwood knows how to make her kids feel special. Recently, the singer gave her eldest son, Isaiah, a shout-out he’ll never forget to celebrate his fifth birthday. On February 28, the beloved country star took to Instagram to honor this special day with a heartfelt message and a rare black-and-white photo of Isaiah as a newborn.
Carrie Reflects on Watching Her Children Grow Up
“He is 5 today. Where did these last five years go?” Carrie, who is 36 years young, wrote in the caption of her post. She shared a stunning, never-before-seen black-and-white photo of Isaiah when he was just a baby. “It’s such a bittersweet feeling watching your children grow up,” she continued. “Of course, you want them to stay little, chubby, and cuddly forever. But at the same time, it's so exciting to see them grow into these incredible little people!”

Isaiah's Journey from Baby to Little Man
The talented singer, known for her hit song “Before He Cheats,” is married to Mike Fisher, and together they have two boys—Isaiah, the birthday boy, and Jacob, who is just one year old. Carrie couldn’t help but marvel at how much Isaiah has grown since he was born in February 2015. “Isaiah, you are funny, smart, and such a caring little boy!” she wrote. “You already have so much love for God and for everyone around you. The day I became your mother was the day my life changed forever. You are 5 today, but you will always be my baby boy, no matter how old you get. Thank you for being you.”

A Mother's Journey Isn't Always Easy
While Carrie is thrilled with her two adorable boys, her journey to motherhood wasn't smooth sailing. The singer behind “Jesus, Take the Wheel” has been open about the challenges she faced, including suffering three miscarriages before welcoming baby Jacob in early 2019. Despite these hardships, Carrie remains grateful and continues to share her story with fans.
Almost a year after revealing her emotional journey in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Carrie opened up again to The Guardian. She admitted that while she was managing to keep a smile on her face for the world, the reality of her struggles hit her hard at home. “I was still trying to do my job and put on a smiley happy face and be Carrie Underwood,” she explained. “And then I’d go home and fall apart.”

“I felt like I had a responsibility to speak up,” Carrie shared. “It’s something people don’t really talk about. Even close friends, after I spoke about it, told me, ‘My gosh, me too!’ And I feel like it’s something I should have known about them.”
